This is an exchange programme that brings together women media organisations from Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Zambia and Kenya. Women journalists from the five countries spend a year in the host Association to learn and share different skills and experiences.
AMWIK, together with other women media associations in Tanzania, Ethiopia, Zambia, and Uganda are involved in a South to South exchange programme supported by a Norwegian organisation, Fredskorpset (FK- Norway). The members of the network exchange journalists learn from each other and share experiences within the local media’s area of expertise. Network members organize for one year placement in the media organizations for their visitors.
The ten months program aims to assist individual participants and organisations to:-
• Share experiences and expertise.
• Improve organizations capacity.
• Improve professional excellence of individuals and participating organizations in the program.
• Expose individual participants and help them appreciate different cultures. Organisations and working environment
Currently, AMWIK is hosting Mihret Mogsi from EMWA and Zawadi from TAMWA while AMWIK has sent two of its members, Elizabeth Opundo to UMWA and Elizabeth Murekio to EMWA.
